I’ve heard it time and time again in Hollywood—‘You’re soap opera sexy.’

OK, so I haven’t heard it, but I’ve heard it said to other people. It’s a way to describe and incredibly handsome man who maybe doesn’t have that quirk or that edge to make it in film. Sounds like an insult to some—to me it sounds just fine. I mean, if you’ve got the looks to make it in a medium that seems almost exclusively focused on pretty people, why fight it.

Which is why we decided to make this month’s count down all about soap hunks. I readily admit—I love my soaps. Even though I only follow one regularly—All My Children, and three of my soap’s men made the cut here—there’s no denying that all of them have completely and totally sexy slabs of beef on their cast rosters.

And, in a pretty swift move of cross marketing, we even have links to interviews with some of these guys, courtesy of our friend Michael Fairman over at MichaelFairmanSoaps.com.

But before we get to that, I’ll bet some of you are wondering how those hunky Brits and Aussies did on last month’s countdown. Well I am happy to report that, largely due to Bat fever, Dark Knight Christian Bale came in at number one, followed closely by Bond stud Daniel Craig and Tudors stud Henry Cavill. Damn near tied for fourth and fifth—Hugh Jackman and nip/tuck hunk Julian McMahon—while our little joke (the addition of a woman; Catherine Zeta Jones) climbed all the way to sixth. I knew you guys weren’t completely gay.

This time around, we’ve got a group of men so hot it almost hurts to have to choose between them. But that’s what you’re all tasked with. So sit back, relax and enjoy the fun!

One of two Brits on the countdown, James Scott got his start in theatre, moved to daytime with a role on All My Children and then traded coasts to play the sexiest villian in daytime on Days of Our Lives. The avid runner trains for marathons when he's not working... and I sure wouldn't mind breaking a sweat with this guy.

He's parlayed his soap success into a stint on Dancing With the Stars, the occasional hosting gig and work as a correspondent for Good Morning America.
